If you click the photo to enlarge it, and squint really hard, possibly while tilting your head to the right...you can almost, kinda, nearly see President Obama waving at me! He was in Ottawa for a couple of hours today to eat beaver tails and wreak havoc on traffic in the downtown core!

It's never too early

Had lunch out today (February 19th, 2009) and noticed the message at the bottom of my bill...Now this may be just me, but isn't it a bit early to be worried about the location of ones' Christmas party? Guess one can never be TOO prepared. (Restaurant staff got a good chuckle when asked to book my party!) I believe the words "smart ass"was brandied about...

Ottawa in Winter

It's cold in Ottawa in February, so what do we do? We throw a party! Yup, Winterlude. It's when tourists and locals alike spend their time outside, freezing their butts off and skating on the Rideau Canal!

Syracuse, NY

Spent the weekend in Syracuse NY. While having dinner on Saturday night, we were entertained by a police traffic stop that required 3 cruisers and 5 officers. As I was watching the action, I noticed the police insignia on the cruisers.

Now even in the haze that was 4 or 5 glasses of wine, this still made me scratch my head and wonder WHY police is part of mental health services..and does one necessarily flow from the other???

After 60 or so days without these guys, I am very thankful to have them back!!
